Difference Between Corten And Redcor
Sep 20, 2023
COR-TEN refers to a hot-rolled steel alloy that is used in the railroad and shipping industries.Hot-rolled plate is rolled after the steel billet is heated and the steel billet is in a soft state. After rolling, the surface becomes a hot-rolled coil with oxide scale. The surface quality is poor and the thickness tolerance range is large. Usually the thickness range is 2.0 mm-20mm.

Redcor is a type of corten steel but is cold-rolled instead of hot-rolled. This cold roll helps stabilize the chemical composition as the sheet forms, keeping it more uniform from product to product.Cold-rolled plate is a product that is hot-rolled, pickled, rolled at room temperature and then annealed! It has high-precision surface structure and high-precision thickness tolerance! Generally, the thickness of cold rolled products is 0.2mm-3.0mm.
